Galway Bay Sailing Club and the entire maritime community in the region would like to welcome all the junior sailors and their families participating in this year's Optimist Connacht Championships. It's wonderful that Optimist sailors from all over the country will have the opportunity of experiencing Galway Bay and all that it has to offer. The Optimist class has been the starting point for generations of sailors and continues to grow and prosper. The enduring popularity around the world and in Ireland is a testament to the foresight of its creators and and the great work done by IODAI to foster competition, development and camaraderie for young sailors.
We hope that this event will be a valuable contribution to the class and that you all enjoy your stay in Galway, both on the water and ashore.
