Events at Galway Bay Sailing Club
Every year Galway Bay Sailing Club host a number of sailing events for Cruisers and Dinghys. If you would like us to host your event, please dont hesitate to contact us
Dinghy West is a new initiative by Galway Bay Sailing Club in association with the Irish Sailing Association. It serves to promote dinghy sailing on the west coast of Ireland by running an open regatta for all dinghys. Two race areas are set to facilitate different dinghy classes and Classes with 10 boats or more will have their own race series.
A PY course allows for different classes to race together under their own PY rating. So no matter what dinghy you sail there's racing and fun for you.
With the ISA's choice of the Topper Topaz as a training dinghy alot of clubs now have a number of them within there clubs. A seperate series has been organised for the Topaz fleet and if you can't bring your own Dinghy we have a number of them for rent over that weekend. But book early to avoid dissapointment.

King of the Bay
The King of the Bay Trophy is the most coveted by cruiser sailors from all over Galway. Year after year crews sail through light and heavy weather to hold the acolade. Its not one race but 6. Its not around the cans, its around the coast. It truly is a test of commitment, endurance, local knowledge and sailing ability.
